PetMedic was founded by Dr. Nir Ben-Ari, an experienced emergency room clinician, to fill a void in after-hours, weekend and holiday care. During his years in the veterinary emergency room, Nir observed that the majority of his cases were for urgent care treatment, not life-threatening emergencies. The majority of his cases could be safely managed in an outpatient setting staffed with experienced doctors and technicians. An urgent care model could provide pet owners with a more cost effective and time efficient option than what is currently available in the veterinary community. From this idea PetMedic was born.

Urgent care veterinarian
My passion for animals began as a child, with a wide range of different animals as pets. I always knew I wanted to be a veterinarian. I grew up mostly in the Boston area, and after serving in the military, I completed my Bachelor of Science degree at Boston University in 2007. I then received my veterinary degree from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. I completed a small animal rotating internship, with an emphasis in emergency medicine, and have spent the past seven years working as an emergency room clinician at specialty hospitals. During that time, I also was fortunate to build a family with my loving and supportive wife and our two children, who are also developing a love for animals. I enjoy surfing (not so much in the winter), basketball, traveling, and seeing my boys smile and laugh. I have a passion for client care, fast-paced settings and urgent surgical cases. I am excited to see my vision of an urgent care model for pets come to life at PetMedic and look forward to meeting our future patients and providing a much needed service to the community!

My veterinary career began in 2007 in Indiana, where I grew up. During my career thus far, I have gained broad experience in the field which has included emergency medicine, dermatology, and general practice. When not at work, I live for my family, especially watching my two sons play ice hockey. I share my house and couch with my sweet boxer Bella and my sloppy, loving Great Dane Walter. I am excited about bringing my passion for animals and veterinary expertise to PetMedic. I look forward to meeting you and your pet!
Client care supervisor
I have local roots to the area as I was born and raised in New England. I have been working as a client care specialist in the veterinary field for close to 3 years. I have worked in multiple other customer relations jobs which have served me well when helping clients and their pets. I have a love for all creatures and am particularly interested in animal behavior. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with family, my three wonderful cats, and exploring the great outdoors. I love to greet people with a smile!

Urgent care technician
I was born and raised in Massachusetts and my passion for animals began at a young age. In 2008 it led me to Colorado where I attended Bel-Rea Veterinary Technology School and received my degree in Certified Veterinary Technology (CVT). After graduation, 10 years ago, I moved back to Massachusetts to be closer to friends and family and I have been working in the emergency veterinary field since. The challenges of emergency medicine keep me coming back and thriving. An added bonus is the ability to be there for pets, and their owners, during difficult times. I enjoy live music, exploring the outdoors, camping, yoga, weaving, and all arts and crafts in general. I am currently taking pottery classes and find it to be a great creative outlet. My husband and I rescued an English Pointer named Champ who quickly became part of the family; he’s a goofy pup who always has us laughing! We also have a cat named Potato and a new kitten named Basil who is becoming quite the entertainer and trouble maker.
I am a South Carolina native who has fallen for big city life. I moved up North over 6 years ago to obtain my Master’s degree in Voice Performance, and I loved it so much that I stayed. In the midst of pursuing my career in singing, I discovered a new passion, working in the animal care industry. I have a big heart for pets, and I love being of service to animals and their families. Also, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, trying new things that push me out of my comfort zone, and spreading joy and kindness wherever I go. I am very happy to be a part of the PetMedic family, and I look forward to meeting you and your furry companion should you ever be in need of Urgent Care!
My love of animals came to me at a young age. I knew I wanted to work with animals since the age of 7 growing up in Boston. With my desire to help pets and their care takers, I acquired over 20 years of experience in the veterinary field. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. I became a certified veterinary technician in 2004. During my free time, I enjoy traveling and dining out. I am excited to be part of the PetMedic team and I look forward to helping the community.
