When To Bring Your Dog To Urgent Care
Some of the most common causes of urgent care visits for pets are vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, small wounds and injuries, and allergic reactions.
You know your pet best, and we are here for you anytime they need urgent care. If your dog is exhibiting any symptoms of pain or illness, or in need of treatment for any of the health issues above, you should bring Rover in to urgent care right away. Anytime your pet has a critical health concern that you think needs veterinary attention, but you don’t want to wait until your usual vet clinic has an appointment available, is a good time to bring your pet in.
We can also provide labs and health diagnostics for your pets that are usually more costly at other after hours veterinary facilities.
Dog Urgent Care FAQs
How long does a visit for my dog take?
The wait time depends on the current patient load, but you can expect our total wait times and treatment times to be much shorter than your typical animal hospital emergency room.
Are you an animal hospital?
We are not a 24 hour animal hospital, but we treat the dog injuries and illnesses that a hospital would see, without the cost of an emergency room visit.
Do you provide regular dog health checkups?
We are primarily an urgent care clinic, so Fido should continue to have regular checkups with your family veterinarian.
What if you can’t treat my dog?
We can treat any illness or injury that is non life-threatening, and we also want to make sure your dog gets the best level of care. During your visit we will discuss the best options for your pet’s care and treatment, including recommendations if you need to go to the emergency room.
Do you take dog health insurance?
Yes, but pet health insurance is different from human health insurance as the subscriber pays the clinic out of pocket and then gets reimbursed by their pet insurance company. We can help you submit the claim. See our blog about pet health insurance here.
